Those of you following the Tour know that we made it into Cape Town on the 15th (Saturday). It was amazing. After four months of cycling, to finally see the ocean and Table Mountain and the finish line and my family was an overwhelming experience.
And you’d think after all that it would be over and I’d have time for things like blogging and catching up on my journal. You would be wrong. It took four days for me to write my remaining two journal entries and I’m just now getting to the blog. What have I been doing? Spending time with my friends before we all head back to our corners of the world, hanging out with my parents who flew in from Seattle, seeing the sights in Cape Town . . . oh, and jumping out of an airplane!
We’re in the wine country now and hopefully I will have some time to get my thoughts on here about the last week through South Africa, the big finish and some reflections on the Tour (be prepared for some top and bottom ten lists!). So stay tuned . . . this blog ain’t over yet.
And for those of you in the Olympia, Washington area, my family is hosting a fundraiser for the Global Fund for Women at their house the evening of June 1st. I will be there to share stories and photos and there will be pictures and other memorabilia from my trip for sale with all proceeds going to the Global Fund for Women. I’ll post the details as it gets closer, but save the date.
Congratulations!! What an amazing adventure, what an amazing acomplishment!! I will miss your wonderful stories – its been a great (vicarious) ride!
I can’t wait to hear more! And congrats (again) on accomplishing something truly stupendous.
sky diving! yes!
